On November 5th, 2018, the world was introduced to a new and interesting weapon that could potentially change the battlefield. In Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, players can equip hidden blades that allow them to take down opponents without alerting them in any way.

Even if they are seen attacking or heard yelling out loud, the enemy is still caught off-guard and their guard is not up in time. Now assassins all across the globe have been trying to perfect their skills with these versatile weapons; however, there are certain situations where they cannot be used such as when wearing gloves that inhibit dexterity or holding something long-term like a shield.

Why Hidden Blades?

Hidden blades are one of the foremost weapons employed by members of the Assassin Order. As a secondary weapon, they do not interfere with the wielder’s primary arsenal and can be concealed beneath clothing or armor without affecting their weight distribution.

Generally speaking, these blades are either worn on a significant joint — for example on the inside of an arm or at a wrist, in which case it is known as a wrist blade –, or strapped to an ankle. They may be fitted less often to other parts of the body, such as inside clothing (for women) high up between their breasts. Let’s see the most unique blades ever:

1. Composite Blades

A composite blade is a blade-like weapon that incorporates into the curve of another object, such as an arm or a wrist. The design of the blade is integrated with one part of it and extends from another defining curvature.

When designing a composite concealed blade, there are many different ways that this can be achieved — the most common being to incorporate the metal into the handle. Other designs include incorporating multiple aspects into one piece that provides both functionality and aesthetics at once

2. Two-pronged Blades

A two-pronged blade is a type that has an additional opening on the end of one of the blades. This opening allows for the blade to be used as a hook in order to quickly pull material from the victim’s clothing and body, such as sheets or rope.

Two-pronged hidden blades typically are designed with enough rigidity that they can be used when closed, but they are still flexible enough to use when opened. However, this design is not universal; some manufacturers make many models with only one hook while others produce very few variants of this type of blade.

3. Poison Blades

Poison-hidden knives are a type of blade that is often used as weapons, but must be ingested/ingested to kill the target. They can also come in various forms, such as needles, darts, or even needles that convert into darts.

Some poisons may cause death by suffocation due to bodily fluids leaking around the blades. Others will cause death via internal bleeding and organ hemorrhaging. The poison could also cause rapid kidney failure or brain damage due to large amounts of toxins released into the bloodstream and central nervous system respectively.

Self-Defense with Hidden Blades!

Do you know how to protect yourself if you’re attacked? There is a number of ways to do this, including the use of hidden blades which have become a popular self-defense weapon.

These blades are generally small and easy to conceal. They can be carried in a variety of locations (e.g., in your pocket, on your waistband, or belt loop). Upon attack, they can be quickly drawn and used with deadly force against an aggressor, who may not have time to react before a serious injury is caused or death ensues.
